THE NEED FOR BOATS

In Sundarbans almost more than 90% of the population lives alongside the rivers and nearly every island is criss-crossed by network of rivers. For these people boats are an essential tool for their sea and river ctivities (public transport, fishing, etc…) as well as for the access to ESSENTIAL SERVICES such as medical care, education and other services. Their day to day life and livelihoods are interconnected & dependent upon the rivers. Even during the times of emergencies
such as storms, cyclones and floods too the Boat serves as one of the major modes of transportation and communication for providing aid services to the victims and rescuing out the helpless ones from the most remote and affected areas.
Whenever our “Society” steps forward to reach and communicate with the local communities of any remote area or visit ay distant islands of the Sundarbans to accomplish any of its “Social Work Activities” such as Mangrove Plantation, Disaster Reliefs, Education Campaigns undertaken by the ANANDA NIKETAN PATHSHALA etc. we also have to depend on boats for transportation which often costs too high and puts a heavy burden on our budgets/funds for the particular Social Work Projects that we undertake to accomplish.

Hence, keeping in mind all the above said perspectives and identifying the needs of the people and circumstances our society intends to own and acquire a Personal Boat which shall be used for public welfare purposes. This will aid transport & communications during the hours of need and emergencies.
Now, thereof, in consideration of the foregoing premises, we are looking forward for individuals, groups, organizations and corporate who may support us and join
hands with us to accomplish this goal

Let’s create an example for society, friends, and family members. We cordially invite you to come and visit us and our centers at Sundarbans, in personal and also along with your loved ones and peer-groups and be a part of our continued journey of “Social Service”. Rejoice and rejuvenate your soul by tasting the nectar of bliss by taking part in “Charity”. Charity can become an opportunity for bonding and togetherness.
